Malinami - Handmade in Polen

Handmade - Fairmade

Hun productie gebeurt in India.

1.
Below you can see the rolls of organic cotton used to produce the fabric of DUNS Sweden garments.

2.
The machine is a very interesting piece of equipment and it is really amazing to see the fabric filling up the big roll at the very bottom of the machine. The fabric is in a tube shaped form that needs to be cut open in a later stage of the production.

3.
DUNS Sweden models showing the rolls in More than a Fling dresses.

4.
If you look closely you can see all the threads going into the machine. The red light indicates that there are something that is currently wrong and needs to be checked! This machine is not moving right now hence all red lights.

5.
In this image you can see that there are some red lights still. When all threads ar OK you can start the machine. If something happens with any of all the threads during the actual knitting process the machine stops and the problem must be solved.

6.
The finished product is rolled up and placed in these piles for further transport.

7.
We have followed the fabric to the dyeing unit. As you can see the dyeing process is made in closed containers where the residue will be filtered before leaving the production unit.

8.
Another image from the dyeing process.

9.
During the dyeing process you can watch the fabric through small glass windows at the top.

10.
Washed, dyed (if that is the case), dried and received at the printing unit where it has been rolled up.

The machine that looks like a huge lamp cuts the fabric from the tube shape to the flat making it ready for the print.

14.
The printing has started. On the right you can see the rotary screens.

Many different rotary screens make the print.

17.
So we are finally at the phase of making the different garments.

The three musketeers... :-)

33.
We have moved on to the embroidery. A fantastic machine that requries a very talanted personnel.

34.
Each part of the application must be placed exactly correct before the machine can be started.

35.
This is very time consuming. The machine makes 12 applications at the same time. It takes about 45 minutes to complete 12 owl applications, not counting the minutes it takes to place all the parts that builds the owl or the preparations to cut all the small parts before you can start.

36.
Almost done!

37.
Last stiches.

38.
Done! 17600 stiches later!

39.
Fantastic staff!!
